The Barrie Colts hosted their Highway 26 rivals the Owen Sound Attack last night at Colts Centre in the first meeting between the two clubs this season. The Attack were in complete control all game and used a six-goal third period to thump the Colts 10 – 0.
Sergey Popov (1 Goal, 5 Assists, 6 Points) & Aidan Dudas (1 Goal, 4 Assists, 5 Points) led the way on offense for the Attack.
Mack Guzda picked up the shutout as he stopped all 22 Colts shots that he faced, it was his fourth career OHL Shutout.
Ryan Suzuki makes season debut
After being returned to Barrie earlier in the day Ryan Suzuki made his season debut for the Colts last night.
Suzuki who is in his third season with the club will be a key part to the offense in Barrie which has already been hot with Matej Pekar lighting up the scoresheet for five goals in three games.
The younger brother of current Montreal Canadians prospect Nick Suzuki is looking to continue on the success he had last year in Barrie where he picked up seventy-five points a career-high.
Popov leads Attack with six-point night
Sergey Popov led the Attack on the scoresheet last night as he picked up a career-high one goal and five assists for six points which was good enough to earn the first star of the game honors.
Popov finished the game with a plus/minus of +3 and eight shots on goal while picking up four penalty minutes.
Dudas hits record
Owen Sound Attack captain Aidan Dudas picked up one goal and four assists for five points last night and one is a point he will always remember, In the first period he picked up a loose rebound off the pad and Jet Greaves and put it home which was his 150th career OHL Point.
Dudas, a Parry Sound, Ontario would then go onto finish the game by picking up four assists for a five-point night.
# 11 Daylon Groulx
Daylon Groulx picked up one goal and 2 assists along with a fight to pick up the Gordie Howe Hatrick and joined our own Sam Hossack post-game to talk about the game
Groulx talked about his Night and explained it as the following
" You know I feel like the team chemistry has been good over the last few games, started the season off pretty good we got a big three in three so hopefully we can keep it going "
He then went onto talk about the Guelph Storm who are the defending OHL Champions and the team Owen Sound begins a home and home with Guelph on Friday
" Ya we know there going to be a hard team to play against especially on the road and we know we need to stick to our game plan and always play hard before they come back on Saturday back home for us and it is a big game for us for sure"

Aidan Dudas picked up a goal and four assists on route to a five-point night and also joined our own Sam Hossack post-game to talk about his game
Dudas went onto explain his night as
" I think everyone was playing well, I think everyone played the right way and it wasn't just an individual effort as everyone played the right way and helped us get the result we want "
Dudas then talked about what being named as the newest Captain of the Owen Sound Attack meant to him
"Ya obviously it means a lot to be named captain I think there is a bunch of guys on this team that could very well be captain, we have a very good leadershipgroup and a great group of elders guys and we all lean on each other and on thecoaches so it's obviously an honour but I just go out there and try and lead byexample "
The Colts return to action Saturday Night at Colts Centre when they take on the Mississauga Steelheads. Puck Drop is set for 7:30 PM
