Overview of the O: Barrie Colts launch new performance department, Bulldogs have new bench boss, plus more

The Barrie Colts have launched the first Sports Science and Performance Department in the Ontario Hockey League. The Colts have partnered with Mind to Muscle Strength & Conditioning Centre and Georgian College’s Exercise Physiology Lab for the new program.

The Hamilton Bulldogs name Vince Laise as their new bench boss for the 2019-2020 season. The Brampton, Ontario native has been on the Bulldogs coaching staff since 2016 as an associate coach. He will take the reigns for Hamilton and hopes to steer the Bulldogs back to another J. Ross Roberston Cup.

Kitchener Rangers import defenseman Ville Ottavainen has landed in Canada. The Finnish rearguard made his way to Kitchener, Ontario to get a feel for his new surroundings. It was Ville’s first time at the Kitchener Auditorium.
