Overview of the O: Colts sign 3rd round pick, Hayes selected for USA U-18’s, Guelph adds new assistant coach

The Barrie Colts announced that 45th overall selection and the Colts 3rd round pick Jacob Frasca has signed with the team. Jacob drafted in the 2019 OHL priority draft by the Colts spent the 2018-2019 season in the GTHL playing with the Mississauga Senators, Frasca tallied 30 points.

Hamilton Bulldogs forward Avery Hayes has been selected to represent the U-18 USA national team that will compete in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in August. Avery drafted in the 6th round by the Bulldogs in the 2018 OHL priority draft. The Westland, Michigan native tallied 18 points in 64 games played in his rookie OHL season.

The 2018-2019 OHL Champions announced the hiring of new assistant coach Ken Peroff. The Storm acquire Ken Peroff after he won back to back coach of the year awards in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League with the Hamilton Kilty B’s. The newly signed assistant coach played on the Brampton Battalion during his OHL playing career.

Kitchener Rangers alumni Kevin Henderson has landed the assistant coaching job with the Charlottetown Islanders in the QMJHL. The new Islanders assistant coach was a member of the Kitchener Rangers from the 2004-2005 season until the end of the 2006-2007 season, he tallied 78 points in 166 games played in the Ontario Hockey League.

Another Kitchener Rangers alumni was in the news as Justin Bailey signed a two way contract with the Vancouver Canucks. Justin joined the Kitchener Rangers in 2012 and played into the 2015 season before being dealt to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
