Overview of the O: Sagieon signs AHL contract, Firebirds hire former Saginaw Spirit assistant coach

Oshawa Generals forward Brandon Saigeon has signed a one-year American Hockey League contract. The first round, 4th overall pick from the 2014 OHL priority draft was eventually drafted in the fifth round 140th overall by the Colorado Avalanche during the 2018 NHL Entry draft. Brandon will join the Avalanches AHL affiliate the Colorado Eagles, Brandon tallied 92 points in 2018-2019 with the Generals.

The Flint Firebirds have hired Ryan Kuwabara as an associate coach for the 2019-2020 OHL season. The new coach in Flint joins the Firebirds after serving two seasons as the Saginaw Spirits assistant coach. During his playing days Ryan Kuwabara was a first round 8th overall draft pick by the Ottawa 67’s. He was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2nd round 34th overall at the 1990 NHL entry draft.
