Overview of the O: Sting sign 1st round import selection, Knights alumni signs NHL deal

The Sarnia Sting have secured the signing of their 1st round selection from this year’s import draft. Swedish defenseman Eric Hjorth has signed with the Sting after he was selected 17th overall in the 2019 Canadian Hockey League import draft. Eric is a Columbus Blue Jackets prospect as the NHL club drafted the rearguard in the 4th round 104th overall at the 2019 NHL entry draft.

Former London Knights defenseman Scott Harrington has signed an NHL contract extension with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Scott was drafted by the London Knights with their 1st round pick in the 2009 OHL priority draft, Harrington was the 19th overall selection that year.

Windsor Spitfires former assistant coach Bob Jones is headed to Ottawa to join the Ottawa Senators and their newly appointed head coach D.J Smith. Bob was with the Dallas Stars organization last year working with the organization’s affiliate team the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League.
