Overview of the O: Trades in bunches, OHL players heading to NHL development camps

The Kitchener Rangers announced that they’ve acquired goaltender Jacob Ingham from the Mississauga Steelheads. In 57 games played last season with Mississauga, Jacob finished with a 27-25-2-2 record with the Steelheads, averaging a 3.41 GAA and .890 save percentage.

In return the Steelheads receive:

  • 2nd round pick (Windsor) in 2023
  • 3rd round pick (Oshawa) in 2022
  • 3rd round pick (Kitchener) in 2024
  • Conditional 6th round pick (Kitchener) in 2024

The Mississauga Steelheads announced today that they have acquired Kai Edmonds from the Barrie Colts. The Colts netminder completed last season with an 11-16-1 record, a 3.53 GAA and a 0.896 Sv%. In return the Barrie Colts receive:

2nd Round Pick (Barrie) in 2023

4th Round Pick (Saginaw) in 2020

7th Round Pick (Saginaw) in 2020.

The Mississauga Steelheads back in the trade news as they complete another trade on Monday. This deal sent three draft picks and the rights to defenseman Marshall Warren. The Steelheads receive overage blueliner Hayden Davis and a 2022 draft pick.

The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds will have two members attending NHL development camps this week. Forward Tye Kartye has been invited to the Toronto Maple Leafs development camp. Forward Cullen McLean has been invited the Golden Knights development camp as well.

The Flint Firebirds will have their forward Cody Morgan attending the Detroit Red Wings development camp this week. Cody split this past season with the Spitfires before being dealt with Flint, he tallied 39 points in 63 games played.

Mitchell Weeks the Ontario Junior Hockey League rookie of the year last season has been invited to the Arizona Coyotes development camp. Weeks the young netminder will be battling for a spot with the Wolves this season.
